Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American actress, singer as well as a dancer. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals, including Wicked Legally Blonde, and Hair. The role she played on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors in stage film and television and she will continue that collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford is set to appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the production. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal that was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. The two-season run she had on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first big part. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway performances. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and is now dividing her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
