Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores at an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi was a Romanian gymnastics instructor who was later Comaneci's coach, first discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. Comaneci competed for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships, placing 13th. Following that, she won the title of champion. The first time she competed in an international event that was a preolympics junior competition for nations in the Communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975 she was named the all-around Junior Champion. At her first competition as a senior in 1975 she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion winning four gold medals as well as one silver. She was the first woman to perform the reverse double salo of the uneven parallel bar when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she started appearing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her career in entertainment as a teenager. She started her career as a figure skater, performing alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. These shows included skaters who were performed to music from the stage.
